Partner appreciation post:I sometimes ask myself, why do I want to climb and ski these crazy lines? And after much meditation, I've decided it's not so much about the sunrises and summit views. It's about the people I get to share the day with. When you decide to go on a long, committing ski tour with someone, you make yourself vulnerable to the relationship. Individual ego takes a backseat to a shared vision for success. There are few experiences in our modern times that allow an individual to let go of the defenses in the same way that getting outside to climb a mountain does. At the end of the day, you feel so close to the people you've shared the adventure with.
