Dark skies matched my mood this weekend. Sometimes, not even the joy of being in the mountains can take away the sorrow. I was so sad to learn about both Erik Roner and Sam Jackenthal passing this week. I didn't know Erik but I can only imagine how much positive energy he brought to the world. Sam was a young competitive skier I used to coach. He always had such a fire in his eyes. He passed away from a ski related head injury. Life is precious. I don't know all of you personally but I cherish our interactions, do be careful out there. My heart goes out to all the friends and family members coping with the loss.
