I did my first "alpine start" with my dad in the Wind River Range on a backpack trip when I was 10 or 11. We left our camp at 3 to make the hike out in one day. I'll never forget the satisfaction I felt once we finally made it back to town. Thanks dad for taking me backpacking, skiing, hiking and being an all around rockstar.
