It is with great sadness that I attend the last Salt Lake City #ORShow. The event culminated with a march from the Salt Palace to the Utah Capitol to stand up for our public lands. I have been attending this outdoor recreation industry trade show for over 10 years (and close to 20 shows). I love my industry and what it represents, but the OR show leaving hurts Utahns like myself. It don't know how often I will be able to attend future trade shows because of the financial burden of travel and lodging and we will lose our hometown advantage, along with the estimated $40 million the show brings in. We are losing much more in tourism dollars with the negative public perception. I'm disappointed by our Utah elected officials, but I will continue to work with them, to find common ground and be a voice for the interests of outdoor recreation. I hope this can be a catalyst for positive change. #KeepItPublic #defendbearsears #savegrandstaircase #unitedoutside
