Backcountry skiing is the actualization of a lifelong love affair with snow. Although I don't love every minute of it, like when my hands are frozen or when it's windy and cold and I have a strong urge to urinate, I love how it feels at the end of the day. When I go home, eat a lot (food tastes so good), dry the contents of my pack, and rest, so I can do it all over again tomorrow. February 24 was a day for the books.
